📋 Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the VeRIXx application (hereinafter "the Application"), you fully accept these Terms of Use. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the Application.

2. Service Description

VeRIXx is a digital evidence certification platform (video, photo) built on the RealEyes v5.2 protocol. VeRIXx certifies the integrity of a piece of evidence — it never becomes its owner and does not store it. It allows you to:

• Cryptographically certify the integrity of a digital evidence item (video or photo) captured in real time
• Generate a PDF certificate with SHA-256 hash, GPS, NTP timestamping and optional biometrics
• Publish and fund paid certification missions (card payments via Stripe)

The Application works primarily offline (on-device). Your data stays on your device.

3. Intellectual Property

VeRIXx, the RealEyes protocol and all associated elements (logo, design, code, algorithms) are the exclusive property of VeRIXx SASU, protected by:

Any reproduction, modification, distribution or commercial use without express authorization is prohibited.

4. Permitted Use

The Application may be used for legitimate personal and professional purposes, including:

• Certification of real-estate inventories
• Documentation of claims (insurance, accidents)
• Digital evidence for complementary legal use
• Certification of journalistic content
• Prevention of deepfakes and identity theft

5. Prohibited Uses

⚠ Any violation may lead to civil and criminal proceedings. It is strictly forbidden to use VeRIXx to:

• Certify illegal, fraudulent or misleading content
• Record people without their consent
• Attempt to falsify or bypass certification mechanisms
• Use generated evidence to harm others
• Reverse engineer the application
• Create derivative or competing products without authorization

6. Evidential Value of Certificates

VeRIXx certificates constitute high-quality digital evidence, admissible as supporting documents in many legal and commercial contexts.

⚠ A VeRIXx certificate does not have the value of a bailiff's report or a notarial deed. For any formal judicial procedure, consult a legal professional.

The robustness of the evidence depends on correct use of the application and on the reliability of the device's sensors.

7. Payments and Paid Missions

Card payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS certified payment provider, and are subject to Stripe's Terms of Service. VeRIXx never stores any card data.

Paid missions cover real certification services (inventories, claims, field checks) performed outside the application. The remuneration model is 80% for the contributor and 20% for VeRIXx, subject to change with 30 days' notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

• VeRIXx is provided "as is", with no guarantee of continuous availability
• VeRIXx SASU cannot be held liable for indirect damages resulting from use of the Application
• GPS, NTP and sensor accuracy depends on the user's hardware
• Local certifications are only verifiable across devices with the Firebase backend

9. Changes to the Terms

VeRIXx SASU reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes take effect on the date of their publication in the Application. Continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the competent courts of Paris shall have exclusive jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by law. For any consumer dispute, you may also resort to mediation through the consumer mediator.
